A Fairy Tale Alley
"Fairy Tale Alley," a re-imagination of dreamscapes and stories, redefines our understanding of architecture not as an isolate and static object but as an interactive and flexible platform for everybody. The premise of the project builds on Foucault's heterotopias theory, where the space and place that we inhabit are not empty containers. We inhabit spaces that has already been defined through a set of relations and over time these relations can change.
The objective of this project is to reclaim the unused back alley on the site in a manner that will allow for neighboring community members to come and interact with eachother. As an infill project, a Fairy Tale Alley examins the creative possibilities of the intimate spaces in the alley. By providing a space for creative exchanges of cultural knowledge, this project seeks to transform an ordinary and banal place into an extraordinary sequence of memorable and evocative venues. |
